# Foreword
Since we using local instance on virtual machine first of all we need to set all urls to localhost/ip of virtual machine
It's important because gitlab behind the hood will use `gitlab.local` url, and this address will be unreachable in case we use
port forwarding from virtual machine.

# Setup local server
After gitlab instance installed let's get in docker container and change `external_url` setting:

```bash
# enter container
docker exec -it gitlab bash

# inside container
sed -i 's|external_url .*|external_url "http://10.0.2.15:85"|' /etc/gitlab/gitlab.rb
gitlab-ctl reconfigure
gitlab-ctl restart
exit
```
***It will take some time and it won't be fast***
